Questions filmmakers ask
Which AI models does MovieDM use?+
MovieDM connects to established AI providers through a provider-adapter system (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Runway, Luma and Replicate-hosted models). Which models are available depends on what the studio administrator has configured; every tool shows the model and credit cost before you run it.
How do credits work?+
Each plan includes monthly credits; you can also buy credit packs. Credits are reserved when a job starts and only charged when it completes — failed or canceled jobs are released back to your balance.
Can characters look the same in every shot?+
MovieDM improves consistency with approved reference images and locked appearance descriptions, but no current AI model can guarantee identical faces in every generation. We say so up front.
Who owns what I create?+
You keep the rights to your stories and uploads. Generated media is subject to each AI provider’s terms; licence information is stored with every asset, including commercial-use notes for audio.
Can I export my film?+
Yes. Scripts export to PDF, DOCX and Fountain, storyboards to PDF, subtitles to SRT, and timelines render to MP4 with FFmpeg — including opening titles, credits and burned-in or soft subtitles.
